Its efficient infrastructures - from the airport, the first in France after those of Paris, to the hotels which combine quality of service and large capacity - adapt and facilitate any professional meeting whatever its nature, motivation or number of its participants.
The strengths of the destination lie in its geographical location and its cultural heritage as well as in its infrastructure and its ergonomics allowing the city to offer a global offer to the organizers of professional events.
Brief overview of the main MICE assets of the destination
Nice Côte d´Azur Airport
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is located 15 minutes from the city center. It now benefits from a tram connection from its 2 terminals and provides links to 120 direct destinations in 43 countries. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport welcomed 14,5 million passengers in 2019. In 2011, the “Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur” group, taking into account the environmental impact of its activities, began a certification process. In 2016, Nice Côte d´Azur became the first French airport to obtain Level 3+ Carbon Neutral accreditation, the highest of the standards defined by the Airport Carbon Accreditation. A vast extension project is also envisaged to offer more comfort to passengers, more numerous year after year.
Nice Acropolis Convention Center
The Acropolis-Congress and Acropolis-Expositions complex is located just 20 minutes from the airport and a 10-minute walk from the historic city center.
It offers more than 38,000 m2 of modular space (one of the largest in Europe) and 5 auditoria with 250 to 2,500 seats. This convention center has been awarded by the board of IAPCO (International Association of Professional Congress Organizers) the Award for the best international service provider 2015, on the recommendation of the PCO Kenes.
Since 2018, the management of this Convention & Exhibition Center has been taken over by the City of Nice under municipal management.
Annual results for 2019 exceed the municipal ambitions since the turnover increased by 32% between 2018 and 2019, passing from 14.6 M € to 19.3M €.
In terms of attendance, the Acropolis Convention and Exhibition Center hosted 131 events of all types (congresses, conventions, seminars, galas, shows and shows), which is 10% more than in 2018. To date, 48 events have already been confirmed for 2020, including 23 congresses and conventions and 11 fairs and shows.
With 300 hotels and residences, the Metropolitan Nice Côte d´Azur area represents 1/3 of the Côte d'Azur hotel capacity, from luxury properties to youth hostels and charming hotels, the accommodation offer is varied and suitable for all types of clientele. The 3, 4 and 5 star hotels represent 80% of the accommodation capacity and the majority of them have meeting space in addition to the convention center.
The majority of Nice hotels intended for delegates can be accessed by tram. Some are in the immediate vicinity of the center.
By 2021, hotel capacity will increase by 1,200 new rooms - 800 rooms in the Airport and Arena district, and more than 400 rooms in downtown Nice -. Many establishments are modernized with numerous embellishment or renovation works. The Boscolo B4 Nice Park hotel will be transformed into a 5 * Maison Albar hotel and the Boscolo Plaza hotel will carry out major renovations before reopening into a 5 * hotel.
In the coming months, there will be a series of openings: Hilton Garden Inn at Nice Thiers station, 4 * Sheraton hotel, Marriott, B&B, Neo and Ecklo hotel in the Grand Arénas district.
A unique playground for corporate events
Between sea and mountains, the privileged geographical location of the Nice Côte d´Azur Metropolitan area offers an exceptional playground for organizing tailor-made incentives and team-building. With its contrasting landscapes and tourist infrastructure, the territory offers an extremely rich and varied offer, whether in summer or winter, for cultural or special events, rural or city. The unity of this space, unique in Europe, between the coastal towns - from Cagnes-sur-Mer to Cap d'Ail - and the snow-covered resorts of Mercantour - Isola 2000, Auron, Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage - passing through the perched villages of the middle-country - Vence, Saint-Jeannet, Falicon… -, creates a dynamism conducive to the success of all projects and all private, public or professional events.
The Nice Côte d'Azur Convention Bureau
The Convention Bureau, integrated into the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolitan Visitors Bureau, is the special partner of congress, seminar, exhibition and incentive organizers ... and offers them free assistance and advice.
In 2019, it provided logistical and financial support to the organization of a dozen congresses by providing a "transport pass for delegates" and by organizing VIP cocktails in collaboration with the services of the City of Nice.
It should also be noted that four major medical congresses held in Nice in 2019 were also able to benefit from a subsidy from the “Region Sud” within the framework of the ACE programm (Attract Congresses and Events) in partnership with Provence Côte d'Azur.
