The Smart Cities La Tribune Awards recognizes local authorities that implement innovative initiatives to build and develop the cities of tomorrow, as well as the partners who support them in the construction of these projects.
The "Grand Prix of the smart city initiative of the year" welcomes the global vision and policies implemented in terms of smart city by the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolitan Area, and the delivery in 2019 in their full version of the new lines 2 and 3. The 13th smart city in the world according to Juniper Research, the only French smart city in the ranking, the Nice Côte d'Azur Métropolitan Area has since 2008 made the choice of innovation, industrial change and construction. major structuring projects able to support the growth of the territory. The launching of the tram is the result of a political vision of spatial planning. Linking the points of activity of the City, lines 2 and 3 of the tramway, by making life easier for residents and employees, encourage the establishment of job-creating companies, particularly in the Eco-Valley, and reduce the number of cars on the roads of the metropolis, thus contributing to the improvement of the air quality.
Line 3 was delivered on November 13th and line 2 will be delivered in its entirety on December 14th.
This prize was awarded to Christian Estrosi by Sébastien Lecornu, Minister to the Minister of Territorial Cohesion and Territorial Communities, in charge of Territorial Collectivities, and Jean-Luc Moudenc, President of Toulouse Métropole, Mayor of Toulouse , President of France Urbaine.
