Nice will host the third school in France (after Paris and Lyon) in the Ecole 42 network.
Ecole 42 is the first IT training course entirely free of charge, open to all without any diploma condition and accessible from the age of 18 and with no age limit.
Its pedagogy is based on peer-to-peer learning: a participative operation, without classes, without teachers, which allows students to unleash all their creativity through project-based learning. 42 was founded at the initiative of Xavier Niel in 2013 at a time when the digital industry in France was experiencing a major shortage of IT developers.
The entrepreneur is known to be the founder and main shareholder of Iliad, the company of the mobile phone operator Free. This self-taught billionaire is also an investor in many activities, particularly in the digital sector, including the development of training and entrepreneurship. Recently, he became the owner of the Nice-Matin press group.
The "42 Network", which has already established itself in Fremont (Silicon Valley), has recently launched itself internationally with 29 campuses in 2020 in Belgium, Morocco, Finland, Netherlands, Russia, Brazil, Armenia, Japan, Spain, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Thailand, Germany, Jordan, Malaysia, Australia, Abu Dhabi.
